Alistair Overeem will test free agency following fight with Junior Dos Santos

It looks like another top 10-ranked UFC fighter will test free agency after this weekend as Alistair Overeem approaches the last bout on his current contract.

According to a report via Ariel Helwani on "UFC Tonight", sources have indicated that Overeem's upcoming bout against Junior Dos Santos is the last on his UFC deal, and he's going to test the market before signing his next contract.

Overeem first landed in the UFC in 2011 following a long career fighting in organizations such as PRIDE Fighting Championships and Strikeforce.

Since that time, Overeem has amassed a 4-3 record overall as he approaches his fight with Dos Santos on Saturday night from Orlando.

Overeem was one of the most prized heavyweights coming out of Strikeforce a few years ago, and while there's no indication he wants out of the UFC, it looks like the Dutch fighter wants to see what he's worth on the open market.

Overeem joins bantamweight fighter Aljamain Sterling, who just recently fought out his contract with a win over Johnny Eduardo to reach free agency status as well.

Both fighters have a matching clause in their current deal, which means if Overeem gets an offer from another promotion following his fight with Dos Santos on Saturday, the UFC still holds the option to give him the same deal to retain his services.

Overeem will look to end his current deal on a positive note with a win over Dos Santos, which would then give him a lot more leverage in his negotiations for the future.
