Pakistan has appealed to the International Tennis Federation for compensation because it has been barred from hosting Davis Cup matches due to security concerns.
ITF spokeswoman Barbara Travers says the appeal will be heard by the Davis Cup committee at a meeting on March 9 in Munich. She says she doesn't know how much Pakistan is asking for in compensation, but reports have put the amount at $100,000.
Travers said Thursday that Pakistan is appealing for money because Davis Cup is ``a source of revenue for them.''
Last year, Pakistan lost the right to host the Philippines in the Davis Cup because of security fears in the wake of the attack on Sri Lanka's cricket team in Lahore.
