France beats Germany 3-2 to face Britain in Davis Cup

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) Germany won the reverse singles on Sunday but France went through to the Davis Cup quarterfinals and a match against Britain with a 3-2 victory.
With France holding an unbeatable 3-0 lead after Saturday's doubles, the reverse singles were reduced to best-of-three sets in the dead rubbers.
Philipp Kohlschreiber beat Gilles Simon 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the first match on Sunday and Davis Cup newcomer Jan-Lennard Struff defeated Nicolas Mahut 7-6 (6), 6-3.
The quarterfinals are July 17-19.
