UEFA fines Swedish club AIK for fan violence

Swedish club AIK has been fined for its fans' violent behavior during a Champions League qualifying round loss at home against Norway's Rosenborg.

UEFA ordered AIK on Tuesday to pay ?15,000 ($19,850) for ''crowd disturbances, throwing of missiles and the improper conduct of supporters toward Rosenborg fans and Swedish police.''

Rosenborg won the third qualifying round, first-leg match 1-0 at Rasunda stadium in Stockholm last Wednesday.

The return match is played Wednesday to decide which team advances to the playoff round.

AIK can appeal the UEFA ruling.
