Tottenham target frustrated at Ajax
The 23-year-old has long been linked with Spurs, although he said in January that he could snub the Premier League side even if they agreed a fee. Sevilla have also been credited with an interest in the versatile left-sided player and speculation surrounding his future is set to increase as Ajax boss Martin Jol, formerly of Tottenham, apparently drags his heels. Emanuelson's appearances have been limited recently and his contract expires in 2011, so if Ajax were not interested in extended his current deal they may want to sell this summer. The Holland international's agent, Brian Birch, told sportweek.nl of negotiations: "Disappointingly, since the first meeting we have not talked. The ball is in Ajax's court, they know what we want. "Urby has a contract after this season for one more year, but we are waiting to see what the manager wants. "It is unfortunate that he has had to start from the bench three times. You see this more frequently during contract negotiations, though I do not know whether there is a direct link. "Martin Jol will know what he is doing. Urby should just continue to do his best."
