Switzerland striker Drmic to miss Euro 2016 through injury
BERN, Switzerland --
Switzerland striker Josip Drmic will miss the European Championship after injuring a knee playing for Hamburger SV.
The Swiss football federation announced the ''bitter'' news on its Twitter account that Drmic needs surgery and will miss the June 10-July 10 tournament.
Drmic posted a photograph on his Facebook page of himself walking with the help of crutches.

The 23-year-old Drmic scored three goals in nine Euro 2016 qualifying matches as Switzerland advanced by finishing second in a group won by England.
Switzerland is drawn in a group with host France, Romania and Albania.
Drmic was injured on Saturday playing against Bayer Leverkusen. He is on loan with the Hamburg club for the second half of the season from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
