Switzerland's most-capped player, Heinz Hermann, is returning to football as sporting director at FC Lucerne, one year after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Lucerne says Hermann will begin his duties on May 1 and return to live in Switzerland.
Last year, the 54-year-old Hermann suffered heart problems in Ibiza where he was a resident.
Coached by Murat Yakin, Lucerne stands second in the league and this week reached the Swiss Cup final.
Hermann played in 118 international matches from 1978-91 as a central defender and midfielder, and scored 15 goals.
His most recent coaching job was leading FC Vaduz, the Liechtenstein club which plays in the Swiss league, to promotion into the top tier in 2008.
