Spain favorites to win World Cup
With the 2010 World Cup set to kick off in just 59 days, it’s
time to take a look at who oddsmakers believe are the early
favorites to win in South Africa.
Ladbrokes and William Hill both consider Spain the early
favorite to win the competition, placing them at 4/1.
The Spaniards or "Furias Rojas" (Furious Reds) are trailed by
England and Brazil, both at 5/1.
Ladbrokes has Argentina at 8/1, Germany at 9/1, Italy at
10/1, Holland at 11/1 and France at 16/1.
A dream run by North Korea or New Zealand could win you a
packet. William Hill has both teams as the rank outsiders at
2000/1.
Spain’s David Villa and England’s Wayne Rooney
are the early favorites to win this Summer’s Golden Boot
award.
Ladbrokes has the two strikers with an 8/1 shot at capturing
the award, followed by Brazil’s Fabiano and Argentina’s
Messi at 9/1.
Spain's Fernando Torres is fifth at 10/1. Portugal's
Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina's Gonzalo Higuain follow at 14/1.
