The father of former Aston Villa striker Savo Milosevic has been shot dead by the grandfather after a family row.
Police said on Saturday that 83-year-old Savo Milosevic fired a shotgun into his son's chest at the family home in the eastern Bosnian town of Bijeljina on Friday. The grandfather has been detained.
Serbian media said the tragedy was apparently caused by unresolved property issues.
Savo Milosevic, the former player, appealed in the media to ''spare the family and allow it to cope with the tragedy.''
Milosevic, now 37, played 117 games for Villa from 1995-98. He holds Serbia's record for caps with 102.
