Walter Samuel has revealed Inter Milan team-mate Diego Milito is trying to coax him into a move to Argentinian side Racing Club.

Reports suggest Milito, who has endured an injury-plagued season, is set to re-join the club where his career started at the end of the season and is keen to see defender Samuel make the move to South America too.

Samuel, who joined Inter is 2005, has made only 10 Serie A appearances for the club this season and could be set for a return to his native Argentina in the summer.

The 36-year-old admits he is ready for one final year as a professional footballer after 18 years in the game and Milito is determined to see him end his career at Racing Club.

"Diego Milito is trying to convince me to go with Racing," he told ESPN. "He supports that team and always watches their games.

"I am more identified with Boca Juniors and Newell's. He is known with his club and when he can he talks to me about them.

"I am going to play for one more year. I have spoken to my family and I am interested in continuing, I don't care where."

Samuel admits he is yet to open discussions with Inter, but remains confident he can still perfection at the elite level.

"I still have to talk with Inter and tell them what I think," he added.

"After that I will listen to what they expect and then I will make a decision. I know what I feel and I understand that I can play at least one more year in a good level."

Although Samuel believes he can manage another year as a player, the 56-cap Argentina centre-back is ready to test himself in the coaching department when he does eventually hang up his boots.

"I have worked under many great team managers," he claimed. "I still think as a football player, but of course, in the future, I would like to be a coach.

"Once I said that I wouldn't like to be a coach, but now I would like to try, always using things that I learnt. I would like to start with a youth team so I can see how I go on."
