Roman Shirokov given 6-month ban

Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Roman Shirokov has been handed a suspended six-month ban after abusing a referee following a Premier League game, his club have announced.
Shirokov, who is also captain of Russia, called match official Sergei Karasyov a "clown" after Zenit's game with Amkar Perm earlier this month.
Zenit had become frustrated with Amkar's time-wasting in the 1-1 draw.
A Zenit statement read: "The ethics committee of the Russian Football Union held a meeting on November 12 in Moscow at which it discussed the interview given by Zenit midfielder Roman Shirokov to the press after playing Amkar.
"The committee members decided to disqualify Shirokov conditionally for his statements about the match referee until May 2014, and fined Shirokov 150,000 rubles."
