The New York Red Bulls have waived goalkeeper Danny Cepero and
defenders Carlos Johnson and Walter Garcia.
The MLS team also announced on Friday that it did not pick up
midfielder Matthew Mbuta's option.
Cepero made 13 starts last season, earning a 1.74 goals
against average and a 2-8-3 record.
Johnson, who joined the Red Bulls from Norway's Bryne FK,
appeared in 13 matches, tallying one assist. Garcia signed with New
York last August from Argentina's Quilmes Atletico Club. He
appeared in one game.
Mbuta had two goals in 12 games.
