Real Madrid just scored one of the goals of the year and you'd never guess who
Real Madrid beat Cultural Leonesa 7-1, and the best goal of the day was from an unlikely source: defender José Ignacio Fernández Iglesias, commonly known as Nacho.
James Rodriguez put in the cross and 26-year-old central defender Nacho let loose with a picture-perfect scissor kick side volley to put the icing on the already richly adorned Real Madrid cake.
This is the kind of finish you'd expect from any of the other attacking luminaries on the pitch. Put Toni Kroos, Isco, Alvaro Morata, or even the provider, James Rodriguez behind this one and it fits perfectly. But Nacho?
This was Nacho average goal.
Sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to remove it.
But seriously, what an incredible hit from the Spanish defender. It's up there for one of the best goals of the season, and that's not even accounting for the bonus points he gets because his name is Nacho.
Take a bow my son.
