Pizarro could return to Man City
Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro could make a surprise return to Manchester City this summer.
The Chile international spent six months on loan at the Etihad Stadium during the second half of the 2011/12 season, making seven appearances in all competitions.
He left parent club Roma the following summer, signing a two-year deal with fellow Serie A side Fiorentina.
The 33-year-old has been a regular for La Viola this season, making 29 appearances, but appears set to quit the club in the summer.
Pizarro's agent Alejandro Santiesteban told Radio Bio Bio: "David's idea is to leave Fiorentina, he is looking for a new challenge and I'm working on this.
"He seeks a top European club, a 'five stars' club, but there are not yet any negotiations. We will stay calm as there is plenty of time until August 31."
Pizarro's uncle Aurelio Cortez has hinted the midfielder may seek a return to Manchester City, who are set to be managed by his compatriot Manuel Pellegrini.
"Once David signed autographs with the number eight but now he has changed to ten as that is his number for Chile and his next club, I think Pellegrini's Manchester City or AS Roma," Cortez told El Mercurio.
