Pellegrini admits Dzeko could leave City amid Inter Milan rumor

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed Edin Dzeko could leave Manchester City this summer amid reports he is set to join Inter Milan.

With Wilfried Bony expected to be handed more game time by City boss Pellegrini as Sergio Aguero reprises his starting role, doubt has been cast over the future of striker Dzeko.

The Bosnian has been linked with both Arsenal and Roma so far this summer, with The Guardian reporting on Thursday he is set to spend next season on loan at Inter Milan before making a £10.5million permanent transfer in 12 months' time.

Speculation over his future was fuelled further after the 29-year-old was an unused substitute in City's pre-season victory over Roma in the International Champions Cup on Tuesday.

Explaining the omission, Pellegrini admitted he is uncertain whether the Bosnia-Herzegovina international would remain at the club through the transfer window.

"Edin didn't play the last game as it's not clear if he will continue here," the manager said of the striker who scored six goals in 31 games last season. "He is still working here with the whole squad," he added.

Pellegrini also announced that summer signing Fabian Delph is likely to make his debut in a Manchester City shirt against Real Madrid on Friday.
