Moukandjo joins Monaco from Nimes in France

Cameroonian striker Benjamin Moukandjo has signed a 3 1/2-deal with struggling Monaco from second-division club Nimes.

The deal was announced Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed but L'Equipe values the transfer at about ?500,000.

The 22-year-old Moukandjo scored eight goals in 46 matches at Nimes.

Monaco has also signed Mali midfielder Mahamadou Diarra from Real Madrid and Montpellier midfielder Gregory Lacombe in the January transfer window.

The club is 19th in the French league and battling relegation.

Also Monday, Monaco loaned striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Saint-Etienne until the end of the season with an option to make the move permanent. The Gabon striker belongs to AC Milan but has been on loan at Monaco.
