Dons manager Terry Brown had been searching for a new captain after releasing Jamie Stuart and Gareth Gwillim this summer. Brown has selected the towering centre-back to lead his team forward as they seek to improve on last season's 16th-placed finish in League Two. Midfielder Sammy Moore has been named as vice-captain with full-back Warren Cummings, a summer signing from Bournemouth, taking up the role of club captain Brown told the Hounslow Chronicle: "Mat Mitchel-King is the skipper of the side. I know he's got the support of the players and that is very important. "He's a very experienced player and he's getting his game together at the moment."
