Jarvis targets England recall
Jarvis made his international debut in the friendly international with Ghana at Wembley in March, but has since been overlooked by Fabio Capello. The 25-year-old's form dipped after his first appearance for England and he even lost his place in Mick McCarthy's side at the back end of last season. Jarvis admits he found it hard to cope with becoming a marked man after making his England breakthrough, but he is determined to catch Capello's eye again this term. "It was hard coming back from my first cap, trying to recreate my form. People were targeting me and I needed to try to take it as a compliment and try to counter that by changing my game," said Jarvis. "Just because I'd played for England people might have thought of me as one of those big scalps and say 'He's not getting past me today'. Possibly I was more of a marked man. "It was a fantastic experience and emotionally it was incredible but maybe you try just a little bit too hard. "I'd have loved to have been back in the England squad but you have to earn the right and if I can keep playing well hopefully I can get back."
