AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato and Manchester United right back Rafael have been dropped from Brazil's squad to face Argentina in a friendly next week, the Brazilian football federation said Saturday.
Pato is expected to be sidelined for six weeks after injuring his left hamstring in Milan's match with Palermo earlier this week, while Rafael injured his ankle in Manchester United's match against Manchester City.
Brazil will face the South American rival on Wednesday in Doha, Qatar.
Brazil coach Mano Menezes said he will not summon replacements for Pato and Rafael because there would not be enough time to get a visa for the new players.
