Heskey expects "fair share" of goals in A-League
Former England striker Emile Heskey says he will get his ''fair share'' of goals in Australia's A-League despite his moderate scoring record in the English Premier League and international football.
Heskey scored once in every 4.6 games during his career at Leicester City, Liverpool, Birmingham, Wigan and Aston Villa. He managed only seven goals in 62 England appearances.
But the 34-year-old told Australian media on Wednesday that he expects to be a scoring force for his new A-League club, the Newcastle Jets.
Heskey told Foxsports ''everyone always says `you didn't get enough goals, you didn't get enough goals.' But I'll get my fair share of goals, plus I will help produce a lot of goals. That was one of the main things that I do.''
Heskey said he had been ''umming and ahhing'' about joining the A-League until Sydney FC's signing of former Juventus star Alessando Del Piero convinced him of the quality of the Australian league.
