Heinze sidelined after injury

Marseille defender Gabriel Heinze is to be sidelined for a "maximum
of three weeks" after picking up a leg injury on international
duty, his club confirmed today.
The Argentina international was forced off in the 47th minute
of Wednesday's friendly against Germany, which the South Americans
won 1-0.
And tests have revealed Heinze has a crack in his right
fibula.
"Victim of a tackle by Lukas Podolski on Wednesday against
Germany, Gaby Heinze had an X-ray this Thursday on his return to
Marseille," read a statement on the club's website.
"The verdict established a crack at the head of his right
fibula.
"The OM medical staff indicate that his unavailability is set
to be a maximum of three weeks."
It is a big blow to Marseille and Heinze, who has been a
pivotal figure since his return to France from Real Madrid last
summer.
The former Paris St Germain and Manchester United defender is
likely to miss Ligue 1 games against Lorient, Toulouse and Lyon
while he will also be absent for both legs of Marseille's Europa
League last-16 tie against Benfica.
OM are hopeful the 31-year-old will be back to full fitness
for the Coupe de la Ligue final against champions Bordeaux.
