Striker Craig Bellamy has returned to Liverpool four years after being offloaded by Manchester City.
The 32-year-old Wales international left Anfield in 2007 after just a year having scored nine goals in 42 matches.
After 18 months at West Ham, Bellamy joined big-spending City in January 2009, but he fell out of favor when Roberto Mancini took charge of the club.
Bellamy has attracted criticism throughout his career for his outspokenness and short temper, not least when he fell out publicly with his coach at Newcastle and attacked a Liverpool teammate with a golf club.
The signing comes after Portugal midfielder Raul Meireles handed in a transfer request at Liverpool.
