Schalke says it has agreed to terminate the contract of Brazilian defender Marcelo Bordon a year early.
The 34-year-old Bordon, who joined Schalke from Stuttgart in 2004 and was the team's captain from 2006 to 2009, is now planning talks over a possible move to Qatari team Al Rayyan Sports Club.
Bordon played 168 league matches and 36 European games for Schalke, which finished second in the Bundesliga last season.
