Besiktas' blowout loss against Dynamo Kiev brought goalkeeper Fabricio to tears

Besiktas have never made it out of the Champions League group stage, but they hoped to complete the feat on Tuesday. By halftime of their match against Dynamo Kiev, all hope had evaporated. Not only did the hosts have a four-goal lead heading into the break, Besiktas were reduced to 10 men.

Needless to say, it was pretty bleak. Referee Craig Thompson didn't help matters, either, with the sending off and penalty being quite dubious. Besiktas goalkeeper Fabricio was understandably overwhelmed by the letdown and was spotted crying after conceding the backbreaking fourth goal of the match.

It's tough to watch, but it's a reminder of how much these games do mean to some of these players. With Napoli knocking off Benfica, a win would have boosted Besiktas to second place and into the knockout round for the first time in their Champions League history. Instead, they were left with a bitter pill to swallow, falling 6-0 and having just nine men on the pitch when the final whistle blew.

For all the beautiful moments the game can bring, there's an equal amount of painful ones.
