Alex interested in Lowe return
Crewe manager Steve Davis has expressed an interest in bringing MK Dons striker Ryan Lowe back to the club on loan.
Lowe, who played for Alex between 2006 and 2008, was recently touted for a spell away from Milton Keynes even through League One leaders Tranmere had an approach rejected a fortnight ago.
Davis also made tentative enquiries over the 34-year-old at the time and suggested he is ready to make contact with Dons boss Karl Robinson amid a number of injury concerns in the Railwaymen squad.
"I spoke with an agent of Ryan a few weeks ago when it was thought he could be available but we had enough options at the time and I wanted to play our own players," Davis told his club's official website.
"I think Ryan is closer to their team now than he was then. He came on as a substitute at the weekend, so I would have to speak with Karl about his availability and how much they would want of his wages.
"I am not sure they would let him out but Ryan is the type we would be interested in. He has experience, has been prolific at this level and certainly knows where the goal is. We know he is a good player and if he was available and at the right price then he is someone we would consider certainly.
"We tend to get offered young ones and it is not easy getting the ones or type you want. We have made a few enquires and we'll see what happens, but I have always said that we will only do something if it improves us."
