Adriano scored his first goal of the season in Corinthians' 1-0 win over Botafogo in the Sao Paulo state championship on Saturday, while Neymar got two in Santos' 6-1 trouncing of Ponte Preta.
Former Brazil striker Adriano, in his second match after being locked up in the team's hotel to lose weight, scored from close range just four minutes into the match at Pacaembu Stadium, keeping Corinthians atop the 20-team standings after 10 matches.
Current Brazil forward Neymar scored in the 28th and 78th minutes for Santos at Arena Barueri in a match in which Ponte Preta had three players sent off in the second half.
Playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso also scored a goal and defender Edu Dracena added two.
