DETROIT -- Forget about trying to get healthy. For now, the Red Wings are merely trying to stop the bleeding.
Already missing defensemen Nick Lidstrom (ankle), Jonathan Ericsson (wrist), Pavel Datsyuk (knee) and Patrick Eaves (jaw, concussion), the Wings lost two more players against the Chicago Blackhawks Sunday afternoon.
Defenseman Jakub Kindl left the game in the first period because of an upper-body injury. The team announced he would not return to the game.
Then goaltender Jimmy Howard did not start the second period. Instead, Joey MacDonald was in net. The team said it was a lower-body injury.
