Wolves' Wiggins putting himself through wild offseason workout routine
How does Andrew Wiggins look this offseason? Like a light heavyweight.
Wiggins, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, isn't resting on his laurels this summer, judging by a recent YouTube video that documented his workout regimen.
Working with training partner Seon Holmes, Wiggins, a 6-foot-8, 199-pound 20-year-old, put on gloves for some boxing work (exhibiting a decent right hook in the process).
He also did some unique gymnastics work.
And plenty of pull-ups. . . And pushing and pulling of heavy sleds (the truly unique training begins around the 3-minute mark in the attached video below, as the wiry Wiggins displays a surprising amount of strength).
Last season, Wiggins, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, produced 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per night. Clearly, the Toronto native wasn't satisfied with those numbers, nor the Wolves' 16-66 final record.
If Wiggins' teammates worked even half as hard as he did this offseason, perhaps the Timberwolves will be trending upward in 2015-16.
