Will Ferrell plans for 'Steinbrenner-type' role with LAFC

Los Angeles FC part-owner Will Ferrell is really, really into soccer. Or at least his idea of soccer.

The "Zoolander 2" star dropped by "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Monday to discuss his stake in the MLS expansion team and lead a few chants for his new team.

“I’m a big soccer guy,” Ferrell said. “The way I’m going to model my role as an owner is as a George Steinbrenner-type. I’m going to wear a lot of turtlenecks and a lot of sportcoats. I’m going to hire and fire the same manager 10 times in one season.”

Ferrell also delved into some of the ideal qualities in a potential signing. It turns out most of Ferrell’s must-haves in a soccer player coincide with the rec-league player recently kicked out of his coed league outside Cleveland.

“These are going to go into all of our bylaws for our new team,” Ferrell joked.
