Wild's Pominville named NHL's First Star of the Week

Minnesota Wild right wing Jason Pominville was named the NHL's First Star of the Week after he recorded eight points in the Wild's last four games.
Pominville tallied two goals and six assists last week and tied a career high with four points in a 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Feb. 7.
He joined Nashville Predators left wing Viktor Arvidsson and St. Louis Blues goaltender Jake Allen to round out the top three NHL players last week.
Despite the Wild's 37-12-6 record that leads the Western Conference, Pominville is the only Wild player to be named the league's top star of the week this season. Devan Dubnyk and Mikael Granlund were named the NHL's second star of the week on Oct. 31 and Feb. 6, respectively. Forward Eric Staal was the NHL's third star of the week on Dec. 19.
Pominville has recorded 10 goals and 25 assists this season, ranking seventh on the team in points scored.
The Minnesota Wild will square off against the New Jersey Devils on Feb. 14.
