Wayne Gretzky is one of winter’s heroes, says Santa Claus.
The Great One made a cameo on Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons, appearing in Maggie’s Christmas nightmare. She comes across Santa who enlists Gretzky, the Abominable Snowman and Jack Frost.
“We were looking for heroes of the winter like Santa Claus and Jack Frost, and there couldn't be a bigger hockey hero than Wayne Gretzky,” Al Jean, one of the show’s executive producers, recently told NHL.com.

Maggie managed to wake up before Gretzky could start scoring goals, sadly.
