Everything is bigger in Texas...including UFC attendance figures.

On Saturday night, UFC 171 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas drew an attendance of 19,324, setting a new record for the largest crowd in the United States in the UFC's history.

The previous record was held by UFC 68 with 19,049. The event was headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Randy Couture and Tim Sylvia in Columbus, Ohio.

On Saturday, the Dallas crowd saw hometown hero Johny Hendricks defeat Robbie Lawler by unanimous secision for the vacant UFC Welterweight Championship in one of the greatest fights in UFC history.

UFC president Dana White has always talked about wanting to hold a super card at the mammoth AT&T Stadium in Dallas...and maybe Saturday night's record crowd showed that Texas could support an event of that caliber.
