UCF headed to postseason, will host Colorado in NIT

UCF will be playing postseason basketball for the first time 2011-12.

Coming off their best season since in five years, the UCF Knights will be going to the postseason as a No. 4 seed in the National Invitation Tournament after the bracket was announced Sunday night.

The Knights (21-11, 11-7 AAC) will host fifth-seeded Colorado (19-14, 8-12 Pac-12) on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Led by leading scorer B.J. Taylor (17.2 points per game), UCF is headed to postseason play for the first time since the 2011-12 season, when they lost to Drexel in the first round of the NIT.

The Knights, who one six straight games before falling to SMU in the semifinals of the conference tournament, are top 10 in the country in scoring defense (fifth), field-goal percentage defense (first), rebound margin (sixth), fouls per game (10th) and rebounds per game (fourth).
