Twins place Plouffe on 15-day DL with left oblique strain

The Minnesota Twins have placed Trevor Plouffe on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

The 30-year-old Plouffe is batting a career-best .260 (83-319) this season with 12 home runs and 47 RBI in 84 games. He spent time on the disabled list twice earlier this year because of rib injuries.
