TUF Talk Tom Gallicchio: My loss has been 'haunting me' since I left the show
When "The Ultimate Fighter" started this season, there were a few competitors with veteran experience who were pegged as potential favorites to make some noise and get deep into the tournament.
Team Faber fighter Tom Gallicchio was one such individual, who came to the show with 28 fights of professional experience while training at Team Quest, which is the same gym that produced MMA legend Dan Henderson as well as current UFC stars Sam Alvey and Tarec Saffiedine.
Unfortunately, Gallicchio wasn't able to get the job done after he took Marcin Wrzosek's back in the opening moments of the fight and spent several minutes trying to secure the position so he could work for a submission. When Gallicchio finally gave up on the position, his body was exhausted and Wrzosek took advantage.
"I remember I took his back early, and I was trying really hard for the choke. I remember after I failed at it, I had no more legs or arms," Gallicchio said on the podcast. "It's tough and it's honestly been haunting me since I left.
"National TV gets to see a really bad performance out of me. Not to take anything away from Marcin. Marcin's a very, very talented fighter, I think everybody in that house was talented, but the way I fought, I'm really bummed about it. It's been bumming me out ever since."
Gallicchio will talk about the fight with Wrzosek as well as his impressions of Conor McGregor, what it was like to learn under Urijah Faber and whether or not living in the house got to him or not.
