TUF Talk: Aisling Daly's motivation was extending Ireland's win streak

Published Oct. 29, 2014 11:00 p.m. ET

Aisling Daly was not quite herself going into the fight with Angela Magana this week on The Ultimate Fighter.

The draining heat of the Las Vegas sun was affecting her health and being so far away from her home and teammates was tough for the Dublin, Ireland native.

Then UFC Fight Night in Dublin took place and thanks to UFC president Dana White, the fighters in the house were able to partake and watch the show at the house.  It was a banner day for Daly's team as Conor McGregor, Gunnar Nelson, Cathal Pendred and Paddy Holohan all picked up wins that day.

Holohan even gave Daly a personal shout out that she got to watch live while it happened and it was the perfect pick me up to get her back in fight shape to beat Magana.

"I knew UFC Dublin was happening and I was so detached from it and a little bit down about missing it. To get a shout out from Paddy it really lifted my spirits. It was exactly what I needed," Daly told TUF Talk this week.

"That's how I felt going into my fight.  Everyone was talking about the Team Pettis win streak, but I was more concerned about UFC Dublin.  I wanted to go 5-0 for Team SBG."

Daly got the job done and defeated Magana by TKO in the third round of what has been the best fight so far this season.
