Spurs fall to Suns in preseason matchup
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Gerald Green had 19 points and the Phoenix Suns beat the San Antonio Spurs 106-99 on Sunday to remain unbeaten in three preseason games under first-year coach Jeff Hornacek.
Miles Plumlee and rookie Dionte Christmas, 3 for 4 on 3-pointers, added 14 points each.
Both teams sat out their starters sat out much of the second half.
Tim Duncan had 12 points, and Manu Ginobili added 11 points and five assists for San Antonio (1-1). Tony Parker, who spent much of the offseason playing for France's national team, had 11 points in 17 minutes before sitting out the entire second half.
Ginobili was active and healthy after suffering through injuries and an erratic postseason last year. He played 23 minutes, as did Duncan.
A quicker lineup led by Eric Bledsoe allowed Phoenix to close the second half on a 12-5 run. Bledsoe scored all his seven points in the run.
San Antonio's roster is down to 19 players after waiving Sam Young on Thursday.
