TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida State coach Mike Martin is heading to Omaha yet one more time in search of a national championship that has somehow eluded the Seminoles' program.
Sherman Johnson homered and drove in five runs to lead Florida State to an 18-7 victory over Stanford on Sunday to earn its 21st trip to the College World Series.
"My four favorite words," Martin said. "See you in Omaha."
Florida State, which outscored Stanford 35-8 in the tournament, is making its 15th CWS trip under the 68-year-old Martin, who is wrapping up his 33rd year at the school.
The Seminoles have made the most CWS appearances without winning it all.
Johnson's three-run home run capped a four-run second inning that gave the Seminoles (48-15) a 6-0 lead on the way to the two-game sweep. Jayce Boyd hit a two-run homer in the first.
"Two swings of the bat ... five runs," Stanford coach Mark Marquess said. "We couldn't contain them."
Johnson had six hits in nine at-bats, scored six runs and drove in six in the two games.
Johnson, the Seminoles' leadoff hitter, scored four runs in Florida State's 17-1 win Friday night. Both Johnson and Boyd have six postseason home runs in their Florida State careers.
Seth Miller added his third grand slam of the season in the seventh for Florida State's final runs.
Gage Smith (5-0) picked up the win with 2 1-3 innings of relief.
Stanford starter Brett Mooneyham (7-6) was chased before getting an out in the second inning. Florida State starter Mike Compton surrendered a career-high 11 hits before leaving in the fifth.
The Cardinal had 18 hits, but stranded 12 runners.
Stephen Piscotty had four hits for Stanford, but he hit into a fielder's choice with the bases loaded in the seventh.
"I would have traded all four of those hits for that at-bat," he said. "It's tough."
Florida State's infield turned three double plays for the second straight game.
"They made some really great defensive plays," Marquess said. "We hit into more double plays in these two days then we have in 30 games."
Austin Wilson hit his 10th home run of the season in the eighth for Stanford's final run. He had three hits and three RBIs for the Cardinal.
Josh Delph had three hits and teammates Stephen McGee and Justin Gonzalez each scored three times for the Seminoles.
Stanford pitchers had trouble with control in both games, walking 21 and hitting six batters.
