By Sid Saraf, FOXSports.com Sometimes a mistake is so colossal, you almost have to admire it. Congratulations, Seattle! Well, not congratulations ... but, you know what I mean. The Seahawks had the ball at the Titans' 4-yard line just before halftime on Sunday. Punter Jon Ryan lined up for a field goal attempt (more on that later) that would have put the team up 10 going into halftime. That's when disaster struck. Holder Chris Maragos botched the snap and instead of just falling on the ball and ending the half, tried to pick it up and make a play. As he was being brought to the turf, Maragos tried to throw the ball away. Instead, the ball got knocked loose, allowing Jason McCourty to pick it up and return it 77 yards for a touchdown and the lead. Wow. OK, why was the Seahawks' punter kicking a field goal? Well, starting kicker Steven Hauschka was knocked out of the game with a concussion and a bloody nose on this play:

That pressed Ryan -- the man who usually holds for Hauschka -- into kicking duties and brought Maragos (a backup safety) in as the holder. Questions? Comments? Send them to lacesoutmail@gmail.com and we might respond in our weekly mailbag!
