Francona became famous in his first year with the Indians for riding a scooter, rather than driving, to the Indians spring training facility in Goodyear, Ariz. Francona also rides the scooter to home games at Progressive Field.

During 2015 spring training, an Indians staff member crashed Tito's scooter, forcing the scooter to go on the DL. Francona jokingly said it was the first time there was a rift between him and the Indians organization.
