Reds place Hamilton on the DL, recall Boesch, LeCure
The Cincinnati Reds Reds placed CF Billy Hamilton on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder injury. The Reds recalled Louisville OF Brennan Boesch to take Hamilton's roster spot in Cincinnati.
This season, Hamilton was hitting .226 with a .272 OBP and .290 SLG for the Reds. In 389 at-bats, Hamilton had 88 hits, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 28 RBI. Hamilton has 54 steals on the season, two shy of his total last season.
Boesch made 32 apps and 10 starts for the Reds before he was optioned to Louisville on June 16. In Louisville, the Reds Triple A affiliate, Boesch hit .331 with a .394 OBP and .438 SLG.
The Reds also transferred RHP Nate Adcock to the 60-day disabled list, optioned RHP Dylan Axelrod to Triple A Louisville and called up RHP Sam LeCure.
