Rays righty Grant Balfour rolls into camp in style

Closer. All-Star. Wild-looking truck owner.

All titles apply to Grant Balfour, a right-hander who has a sweet way to roll into Tampa Bay Rays spring training in Port Charlotte, Fla.

This photo surfaced early Wednesday afternoon from the parking lot of Charlotte Sports Park, proof that the man who signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Rays in January has quite the taste in personal transportation.

Balfour, who spent the past three seasons with the Oakland Athletics, told reporters that the behemoth is a Freightliner P4XL that runs on diesel and includes a big-screen television. Call it a cross between a semi and a Hummer. It's sure to raise a few eyebrows wherever it travels.

So why not kick off spring with a new team in style? Balfour knows how to make an impression.
