PIR's spring race moved back two weeks for 2015

PHOENIX --€“ Phoenix International Raceway's spring NASCAR race weekend is moving back two weeks for the 2015 season.

The spring event, headlined by the Camping World 500, had been the second race on the Sprint Cup Series calendar in 2014, but it'll be fourth in the lineup next year as it moves to March 12 through 15.

PIR's fall race weekend will be Nov. 12-15 on the 2015 calendar and will continue to be next to last in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. The

The spring Sprint Cup race will be televised by FOX, and the fall event will be on NBC.

The new spring dates coincide with spring break for many Arizona school districts.

"I'm delighted that Phoenix International Raceway will once again be able to host an exciting NASCAR weekend in the spring," said PIR President Bryan R. Sperber. "The March 15th date will give fans a great opportunity to sample so many attractions in the Valley as well as enjoy our great weather that time of year."
