Panthers assign goalie Mike McKenna to Portland


SUNRISE, Fla. -- Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced Friday that goaltender Mike McKenna has been assigned to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Portland Pirates.
The 32-year old McKenna has played in 40 games with Portland this season posting a 25-11-2 record, 2.30 goals against average, .922 save percentage and two shutouts.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of St. Louis, Mo., has played in 22 NHL games, recording a 5-11-2 record with a 3.48 goals against average, .889 save percentage and one shutout with Arizona (2014-15), Columbus (2013-14), New Jersey (2010-11) and Tampa Bay (2008-09).
McKenna was originally selected by Nashville in the sixth round (192 overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft.
