The San Diego Padres today announced they have acquired right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.  Executive Vice President/General Manager A.J. Preller made the announcement.

Perdomo, 22, was selected by the Rockies fourth overall in the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft earlier today from the St. Louis Cardinals.  He went 6-12 with a 3.98 ERA (56 ER, 126.2 IP) and 118 strikeouts against 37 walks over 23 games, 22 starts, between Single-A Peoria and Single-A Palm Beach, spending the majority of the season with Peoria.  The right-hander was signed by the Cardinals as a non-drafted free agent in November 2010.  Over parts of five minor league seasons (2011-15) in the Cardinals organization he has gone 16-31 with a 4.10 ERA (144 ER, 316.0 IP) and 270 strikeouts against 94 walks in 66 games, 61 starts.
