PHOENIX — The Diamondbacks have placed infielder Lyle Overbay on the Paternity List and recalled outfielder A.J. Pollock from Triple-A Reno.
Overbay, 35, has left the team to be with his wife, Sarah, for the birth of their fourth child. They have three sons, Adam, Alex and Luke. By rule, he will miss a minimum of one and a maximum of three days.
Pollock, 24, was hitting .348 with 10 doubles and 14 RBI in 26 games with Reno. In 20 games with the D-backs, he has batted .229 with two doubles, one home run and four RBI.
