EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer underwent a "minor procedure" Friday but is expected to be back with the team Saturday and coach Sunday's game at Buffalo.

Turner said he met with Zimmer, who was at the team facility Friday morning.

"He was uncomfortable and he wasn't feeling real good," Turner said. "Obviously that's where that's at. And everything, I just talked to (head athletic trainer Eric) Sugarman and he's doing great. He'll be ready to go in the morning."

Turner said Zimmer was already finished with the procedure.

"He's feeling a lot better," Turner said.

Linebacker Chad Greenway said Friday's practice was "strangely quiet." Greenway had heard about Zimmer's situation from Adam Zimmer, Mike's son and the Vikings' linebackers coach.

Adam Zimmer was at practice.

"You just got to take it in stride," Greenway said. "You never know what's going to happen. Life comes up and happens, just got to deal with it . . . just got to worry about what you've got to do for your job and move forward. That's what he'd want us to do."

Turner addressed the team before practice started, huddling with the players following the pre-practice stretch.

"I told them six weeks with them and look what they're doing to the guy,"  Turner said. "So let's go play better and win, right?"

Zimmer in his first season as Minnesota's head coach. He's led the team to a 2-4 record while star running back Adrian Peterson is away from the team while facing charges of child abuse, and the team has been without injured starters Matt Cassel, Brandon Fusco, Kyle Rudolph and Chad Greenway.

"We know coach Zim, he'd love to be here," cornerback Captain Munnerlyn said. "He's always here. At the same time, your health and your life is more important than this game of football. We know that. We just praying for him, hope he get better and he be back with us soon."

Greenway nearing return: Greenway, who has led Minnesota in tackles each of the past six seasons, is questionable for Sunday's game at Buffalo after missing the past three games.

Greenway was a full participant in practice all week as he recovers from broken ribs and a broken hand.

"It comes down to where it's at, making sure you can't hurt yourself worse and damage anything," Greenway said. "If there's a way, I will promise I'll be out there."

Turner said the decision will likely come Sunday whether Greenway returns to the lineup.

"It's just progressing kind of how everybody thought it would," Greenway said. "But there's just not much you can do for it, unfortunately. So to me it's the most frustrating injury I've had just because what do you do, sit around and wait for it to take care of itself."

Hodges, Wootton out: Gerald Hodges, who has replaced Greenway the past three games, was listed out for Sunday's game because of a hamstring injury. Hodges was injured in last week's game but later returned. Hodges didn't practice all week.

Defensive end Corey Wootton is also out for Sunday with a lower back injury. Tight end Kyle Rudolph is out. Rudolph still hasn't returned to practice since double sports hernia surgery.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd is listed as questionable with elbow and ankle injuries. Floyd didn't practice Thursday, but returned to practice Friday on a limited basis.

Receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (hip), defensive tackle Linval Joseph (ankle), safety Harrison Smith (ankle), tight end Chase Ford (foot) and cornerback Jabari Price (hamstring) are all probable after practicing fully on Friday. Linebacker Michael Mauti returned to practice after missing Thursday with an illness and is probable for Sunday.
