Mizzou Suspends Quarterback Maty Mauk As Video Surfaces of Alleged Drug Use
Missouri has suspended quarterback Maty Mauk as it investigates a video that was posted on social media Monday night, purporting to show the quarterback using cocaine.
Mizzou issued the following statement to Outkick after we inquired about the video posted on Twitter:
"We are currently gathering information regarding the video in question. This is an issue we take very seriously and one that will not be tolerated within our program. We will take appropriate action once we have all the facts. In the interim, Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended from the Mizzou football program."

Mauk is coming off a season full of problems. After playing the first four games for Missouri, he was twice suspended -- once for a violation of team rules, the other after a bar confrontation -- and didn't play again.
The Tigers struggled to a 5-7 campaign a year after appearing in the SEC Championship Game for a second straight season. Head coach Gary Pinkel retired at season's end after revealing that he has non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
Mauk was a key factor in the success of both the SEC East-winning teams. He subbed in relief of injured starter James Franklin in 2013, starting four games, and started every game in 2014.
He had six touchdowns and four interceptions in the four games he played in 2015. He still has a year of eligibility remaining.
