Mizzou will finish up its non-conference schedule down a player on Thursday after it was announced forward Willie Jackson would be leaving the program.

Jackson, a 6-foot-6 freshman from Cleveland, is leaving the program to move closer to home due to "an illness in the family," according to a statement released by the school.

“I really appreciate the opportunity that Mizzou gave me, and I enjoyed my time in Columbia, but my family needs me closer to home, at this point,” Jackson said in a media release. “We have an illness in the family, and I’m hoping to spend more time around my family to be a positive influence."

Jackson averaged 16.9 minutes, 5.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Tigers (5-6).

The Tigers will take on Lipscomb (6-9) Thursday in their final non-conference game. They start SEC play Jan. 4 against LSU.
