Midweek Stock Report: Wiggins hasn't forgotten

Every Wednesday, FOX Sports North takes a look at which athletes' stock is trending up and whose is trending down.

In other words, who is heating up and who is cooling off.

With that in mind, let's take stock of the current Minnesota sports scene.

Andrew Wiggins, Wolves forward

It's hard to imagine that stone-faced Andrew Wiggins holds many grudges, but he seems to be nursing one against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Wiggins went off Tuesday night against the team that drafted him, then traded him, scoring 41 points and willing the Wolves back from the brink in the third quarter. He scored 20 points in the third alone, tying the game with a buzzer-beater to end the quarter.

Zach Parise, Wild forward

That's more like it. After a 10-game scoring drought Parise has now found the back of the net five times in his last seven games. He scored his 11th of the season during an overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks last Wednesday, then scored twice in the third period of a 6-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings. Parise is still a way's off his typical scoring pace, but fans worried that the hard-charging winger is in decline at 32 years old can rest a little easier for now.

Bemidji State men's hockey

For the first time in its 104-year history, the MacNaughton Cup belongs to the Beavers. Bemidji State clinched sole possession of the WCHA's regular-season title when Ferris State knocked off Michigan Tech on Friday night, before beating Alabama-Huntsville 3-2 and kicking off the celebration on the road. The win gives the Beavers home ice for the duration of the WCHA playoffs, putting them in prime position to secure the conference's auto-bid to the NCAA tournament.

Byung Ho Park, Twins designated hitter

First, the bad news: The Twins designated Park for assignment last week, exposing the Korean slugger to waivers in an attempt to send him to Triple-A. Now for the good news: He went unclaimed. Park will report to spring training with the Twins, hoping to put a wrist issue that lingered for much of last season behind him. He hit just .191/.275/.409 last season, but after dominating in the KBO and flashing some of that much-hyped power early in the year, Park's potential remains intriguing.

Alex Tuch, Wild forward

Tuch is back with the Wild after being returned to the AHL for a brief stint with the Iowa Wild, but the former first-round pick's NHL career is off to a slow start. He has no points in four games so far, and didn't register a shot on goal in the Wild's 1-0 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.

Shabazz Muhammad, Wolves forward

The Wolves' top reserve player didn't make much of an impact in their loss to the Cavaliers, registering just seven points, an assist, a steal and a rebound.
